Here is our Winter 2014 Newsletter:

Warmest greetings as we face the second half of winter, a season where we need to be extra sure to take care of ourselves.
Vitamin C is a great way to ward off colds and pep us up again when we have one. Aren’t we fortunate to live in a climate where we can grow citrus in our backyards?
Winter is when our skin does it tough – drying winds and cold temperatures outdoors and artificial heating indoors – so I’m delighted to offer a free soothing and softening hand treatment (normally priced at $50) with all facials during July and August. The treatment comprises exfoliation, massage and a Thermosoft soyaffin hand mask. Soyaffin, a blend of shea butter, beeswax, and soy extracts, is a non-toxic alternative to paraffin.
Essential fatty acids (EFAs) are a must to keep skin looking youthful and during July and August I am adding EFA serums and creams to all my facials. Bestow Beauty Oil, made from New Zealand flax seed, is a dietary supplement and with every purchase in July and August I will add a free recipe card. EFAs are also to be found in oily fish (such as salmon), oily nuts (walnuts, almonds, Brazil and hazelnuts), and avocados.
What a lovely afternoon we had at La Grange on May 17. One of my guest speakers was designer Bridget Ellery from Christchurch and I’m pleased to announce that Adele Face + Flowers is the sole Tauranga stockist of her Beauty & Love range that includes candles (in a reusable pillar) and natural perfumes. I am also selling her soap and cards as a gift set at only $15. Georgia has the fire going daily in our reception room so come a little earlier for your next appointment and view Bridget’s charming range.
Working alongside me at Willow Therapeutic is Sarah Morrison who specialises in relaxation, pregnancy, sports, therapeutic and hot stone massage. She has worked with everyone from the Black Caps to Lady Gaga and I can personally recommend her. For July Sarah is offering a free 15-minute massage of hands, feet or scalp after every 1-hour massage. A gorgeous way to beat the winter blues. To make an appointment phone 07 213 0725 or go to www.willowtherapeutic.co.nz
Now that I’ve settled in to my new premises I am bringing back my flowers – everything from small posies ($8.50) and floral cupcakes ($10 each) to bespoke arrangements. What could be more delightful than a vase of massed tulips or lilies to brighten these long nights? Flowers have a way of lifting our spirits. Phone or email me to discuss an order.
I thought it might be fun to share some of the “language of flowers”: Lily – beauty and elegance; yellow rose – friendship; zinnia – absent friends; carnation – love (pink is unconditional love but yellow a rejection); stock – contentment; hydrangea – heartlessness (oh dear!); peach blossom – I am captivated.
Here’s something else to brighten up winter … to introduce the new Snowberry range (details next newsletter) I am offering a free Snowberry Simply Delicious Moisturiser (valued at $55) with every Snowberry Intensive Renewal Face Serum sold.
Love & best wishes,
Adele
